The aquarium was always a popular date spot, because who could deny the allure of a dimly lit underwater world? Normally, most visitors wouldn't be nearly as knowledgeable on the many creatures housed in the tanks, but the assumption was that Thalass and Rehszan wouldn't have it any other way.

Rehszan double- and triple- checked that his volume was as low as possible while still able to be heard— in all of his years, this wasn't his first date, and it certainly wasn't his first aquarium visit! What a fitting setting. He wondered if his date would be a fellow scientist by profession, a hobbyist, or someone who worked with animals in some other capacity... "Oh, Thalass...!!" At the sight of his friend, Rehszan broke into a toothy grin, picking up the pace to linger alongside them. "Are you here for the blind date event?" It would be such a lovely time with the two of them!

"Ah, Rehszan. Yes. It makes logical sense to see you here." Wait, they thought - that sounded too cold; they should probably indicate that they were pleased with this result. "I am pleased with this result." Excellent. Social interaction win. "Perhaps this date will not be very interesting, though. My plan was to 'woo' the other person by demonstrating at length my extensive knowledge of aquatic species, but I have already done that with you." Ah, yes, great plan for a date: infodumping for an hour straight. They'd been told that might be more of a lecture than an outing, so they WOULD have made an attempt to let the other person speak about themselves and their interests approximately every five to ten minutes, though. Rehszan tilted his head, considering their words quietly. "I am pleased with this result as well," he confirmed, eyes twinkling faintly as something computed, tail swishing lightly behind him. "Would it please you to wipe it from my memory, so that you may refresh me? I do enjoy listening to you talk regardless, even if I am familiar with the subject already. I would listen to you speak of the same things countless times, if it would make you happy," he rambled on, fixing his focus forward as they began to head towards the actual aquarium, "because seeing my friends happy makes me feel the same."

They paused before speaking. "Hmmm. I am unsure how I feel about that. It feels as though I would be taking ownership over your memory for my own benefit, even though wiping your memory would be your choice and not mine. Perhaps that is a result of my own trepidation as an organic being, one not used to being able to wipe my own memory intentionally unless I caused great damage to myself. Is this a logical or illogical reaction?" That last bit was a genuine question; they rarely said anything rhetorical, and they were just as likely to answer rhetorical questions as though they were genuine. In fact, they had been unfamiliar with the concept of rhetorical questions for most of their life, and thought of them as an invention of other species like humans. Then again, they were a naturally curious and literally minded person, and even if they grew up as a human, they suspected they would have a low tolerance for the asking of questions that wasn't a genuine attempt to find out new information. The lights in his eyes flickered between colors as he processed, finally settling on an answer; "I believe it to be a logical train of thought. I meant no offense by my suggestion, I only wanted to create a solution for the problem at hand." Hmmm. Rehszan folded his hands behind his back, focus shifting towards the tanks. "Regardless of whether or not I had the knowledge stored already, you may consider me well and truly 'wooed'. I find nothing more attractive than someone's passion in their particular field of study." He chuckled, a low, warm sound with a metallic twang. "I will always find interest in whatever someone has to say to me, purely because they want me to hear about it, and that in itself is precious to me."
