Star Trek: Starbase 777 - hlleistau-bar

The ambience at Hlleistau was always chill and relaxed, the owner made sure of it. Now though, it seemed that for the occasion, the lights were even dimmer, small candles lit on every table and the staff all in their Sunday best. A table had been reserved for C'Tessa and Via, to let them get to know each other over a drink or two.

C’Tessa loved a good bar date. Mainly because conversation flowed a bit better with alcohol, but she enjoyed the atmosphere too! She’d been meaning to check this place out, but she’d never gotten the chance. She’d been busy figuring out how Intelligence worked, after all. She still remembered the meat planet fiasco… ugh, what a time. Well, the meat hadn’t eaten her, so she was perfectly happy still eating its brethren. C’Tessa loved Valentine’s Day- dressing up, going out, it was a perfect holiday. And, to celebrate, she’d decked herself out in a proper jirai-kei fit. She wore a high waisted, short black skirt, it ruffled out a bit but it didn’t have a petticoat or any actual structure. Tucked into the skirt, she wore a pale pink sweater, off the shoulders with only two straps to hold it up- the straps had little heart charms where they attached to the sweater. She wore black platform loafers with similar heart charms, and black thigh high stockings. And, of course.. she didnt need any hair care, as she had fur all over, but it was all conditioned and very soft, and she was striking enough with the whole snow leopard patterning. She’d brought a box of chocolates with her for her Valentine, and she was awaiting their arrival.

She felt nervous as this was her first date. Well it wasn't quite her first date but it was the first one that someone hadnt walked out on her immediately. She walked in smiling with a small box containing an assortment of pastry. She knew chocolate was traditional but variety like pastries was much nicer if you could choose was it not? Her outfit was very different to her typical attire. Instead of a more formal dress she wore a white undershirt with small bell sleeves at the end. A pink hoodie covered the shirt and a set of black trousers, pink heart hairclips adorned her hair as well as her glasses being tinted rosé gold. She walked towards the table she had been instructured to and smiled before she sat down. She placed the box beside her on the table. "Hi there! "

This was far from C’Tessa’s first date. In fact, she dated around a fair bit, but mostly it never went anywhere. C’Tessa was happy with being single for the most part, dating took time out of her busy day. But, she liked getting to know people, teasing a little bit, the usual. C’Tessa was here to have fun. “Oh hey there, valentine! Oh, a gift for me? How sweet..” She said, accepting the box before holding out her own box of chocolates. “I have one for you too.”

she smiled kindly and accepted the box of chocolates. "I got pastries for you-I hope that okay? " she wanted to make sure that it was okay. So far it was going well? She wasn't too certain yet but it was going better than most dates she had tried to go on. "Oh right! I need to introduce myself! I'm via electrode! Nice to meet you... " she trailed off hoping that they would give a name in return

“Pastries are a-okay with me, valentine.” She laughed a little. The waiter came soon, and C’Tessa ordered a vodka screwdriver. She wasn’t really here for food, just drinks. And C’Tessa considered a bar date failed if she wasn’t at least tipsy by the end of it. “And cute outfit, by the way. I like the heart clips, very on theme.” Of course, the way C’Tessa’s fur stood up, hairclips wouldn’t look great on her even if she wore them. Regular hair flattened down, while her fur stuck up straight, even if it was longer than your average earth cat. “I’m C’Tessa, from Intelligence. Electrode, huh… lemme guess, you’re from Engineering?” She teased with a little laugh.

"oh no I'm command actually. Parent were in the science hub so thats the surnames origin. " she was happy that pastry was fine. She ordered some kind of exotic fruit drink not to keen on alcohol herself "Aww thanks. I did my best on the outfit yours is adorable as well" she blushed internally at the comments as they were rare. She kept her poker face on "Intelligence how about that? Not really talked to anyone from there what happens round there? "

“Command, huh? What even happens in Command, besides the captains and navigators? Honestly, I don’t think I know anyone in Command.” She shrugged. Sure, she’d probably learned about what Command does at some point, but she’d forgotten. She had had Engineering to focus on at the time, no room for anything else. “Hm.. so like, did they change their last name after joining Science just for fun? Or did a guy with the last name Electrode think it would be really funny to go for Science.” She giggled. The drink arrived shorty, and she took a sip of hers. Perfect, as always. C’Tessa loved a good bar. “Lotta shit you don’t really talk about, I know that. But me, I do cybersecurity. Yknow, making sure no one’s hacking our stuff, updating network security, that sort of thing. Not many of us on the Station though, we’re way small compared to all the other divisions.”

"command helps run things and usually has people from various divisions in it to operate the whole ship. For my parents they moved over to earth to do some advanced science and changed their name so it would be easier to pronounce or at least read. I got given a human name because of that. " she laughed on the inside at that joke trying to imagine her dad wanting to go into science just because of a surname. Then she remembered how she was supposed to. How her parents and everyone wanted her to. How she failed them there. "Cybersecurity sounds interesting! It is important but I understand the smallness of divisions. There doesn't seem to be many command walking around. "moving the topic on seemed best really. She took a sip of her drink and it was nicer then what she would normally gotten, the whole bar was nicer than where she would go but it did feel nice to have a treat. She shifted around a bit trying to keep still but she never could. She let her hands fidget with the cloth of her shirt instead.

“So, like.. what do you do in Command, then? I’ve only ever talked to a Helmsman.. plus a Captain and XO, but those don’t count to me. Talking to those guys at some point is kinda a given if you’re on a ship long enough.” She said. Of course, she’d talked to her Captain and XO after saving the ship from certain death- she’d not seen them much before that- but she digressed. You’d see them at some point anyway. “Damn, how bad was their last name before that? Some weird sound a human mouth can’t make? I know they can’t really do all the purrs and shit in Caitian.” She laughed. “Command’s small? I swear I see so many guys in the red uniform, they can’t all be Tactical..”
